     Make computer stickers,

Homemade & Handcrafted Stickers,

Scrapbook Stickers

There are many ideas on how to make custom labels and stickers.

  1. You can purchase ready made blank computer labels and print your homemade custom stickers on them.
  2. You can purchase blank computer label sheets and print your homemade custom stickers on them and cut them to your finished shape.
  3. OR you can start with a plain sheet of paper and make custom stickers from scratch.

Also it is usually the cheapest.

Each way has its benefits. Options one & two are the easiest BUT these computer stickers must have a white background. What if you want HOT PINK for your custom sticker background?

Then option three is the option for you! With how to make custom stickers and labels, you can begin with any paper stock you choose. You are only limited by your imagination when creating your homemade custom stickers. This is not only great for advertisers, but scrapbook stickers and handcrafted stickers will take on a whole new look.

This method is perfect for short runs and one-time custom stickers. For example: you could print a series of color coded file folder computer labels or school ID stickers. We have included a step by step Student ID Stickers project on this site.

We also included a Refrigerator Photo Magnet project giving you FREE step-by-step instructions on making custom Refrigerator Photo Magnets from old recycled calendar Refrigerator Magnets you have laying around the house.

Recycled Calendar Refrigerator Magnets can also be used to make non-permanent magnetic bumper stickers, magnetic reminders and magnetic special events stickers.

The principle of how to make custom stickers and labels is simple. You need an item to call a “sticker”, Double Sided Tape (aka carpet tape, DST) and something to stick it to.

Now that you know the secret, of how to make custom stickers and labels, let me show you the easy way to a nice looking computer generated custom sticker. Again this method works equally well for homemade stickers and handcrafted stickers.

Tools you will need:

  1. Printer or other method of creating a page of computer sticker blanks.
  2. Paper cutter - I use a Fiskars paper cutter (12” bypass guillotine type). Not necessary but very handy if you are planning to make large quantities of custom computerized professional stickers. Homemade stickers and handcrafted stickers sometimes look best with a more casual border.
  3. Scissors
  4. Razor knife

Materials you will need:

  1. Paper - your sticker stock.
  2. Double sided tape, also known as carpet tape.  *NOTE: Carpet tape is designed to be permanent and may mar anything It comes into contact with.  Avoid the “cloth type” tape it does not look as nice and is harder to work with.
  3. Mineral spirits to clean glue from tools. - I use odorless.  *NOTE: Some glue from the carpet tape will be transferred to your tools. Periodic cleaning will give your custom sticker a nice clean cut edge.

How to make custom stickers and labels in 4 easy steps.

These FREE instructions assume you are making computerized professional stickers, but also work for scrapbook stickers, homemade stickers and handcrafted stickers.

  1. Print a page of potential stickers.  See Sticker Making Tips for layout ideas.
  2. Place the carpet tape on the back of the sticker page.  See “Tips”.
  3. Score the carpet tape with a razor knife if desired. This may make it easier to peel the backing off the tape.
  4. Cut your custom stickers to shape.

You’re done!  Peel the backing off your custom sticker (the carpet tape) and place it on any clean dry surface according to the directions found with your carpet tape.

Teachers, don’t forget about our Student ID Stickers project. This idea just might be the answer to your lost homework problems. Please tell your fellow teachers about HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM STICKERS AND LABELShow2stickers.com
They also may benefit from the school ID stickers project. Computer stickers are not the only labeling method. Art teachers can employ these methods to build handcrafted stickers for ID purposes.

Although the emphasis of
HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM STICKERS AND LABELS is making computer generated professional stickers, the methods and techniques are the same for homemade stickers and handcrafted stickers.
