Cards Printer Settings
How2Stickers.com has
compiled a series of reference charts and quick reference cards for
everyday use. These reference charts and cards are found on our
website as image files or “pictures”. This allows
you the viewer to quickly print the image in a full page, 3”
x 5” or 4” x 6” format. However; web
browser default printer settings often print additional website
information on the page or may have margins set too wide for proper
forms alignment. Changing the printer page settings to the parameters
specified here will produce a nice professional looking product.
Proper page settings
are especially important when printing on precut card stock such as
Avery 5388 index cards and Avery 5389 postcards. How2stickers.com has
designed the printable quick reference cards for maximum use of each
page.
Optimum
Printer Settings [top]
The Optimum Printer Settings for precut
card stock is Internet Explorer browser defaults. If using a different
browser use the following margin settings:
- Left
margin .25” (0.63 centimeters)
- Right
margin .25” (0.63 centimeters)
- Top
margin .68” (1.72 centimeters)
- Bottom
margin .5” (1.27 centimeters)
Note: Internet Explorer will by default print headings and footnote on
your printed pages. This information will print on the tear away
borders when using precut card stock. Use the page setup parameters to
prevent the headers and footers from printing if desired.
To change the page setup parameters:
- Click
the “File” tab on your browser window.
- Select
“Page Setup”.
- Change
margins to: Left .25”, Right .25”, Top
.68”, Bottom .5”
- To
prevent Internet Explorer from printing page headers and footers on
your bumper stickers: Choose the “Empty” option for
all items under the Header and Footer columns.
- When
printing is complete; return to the “Page Setup”
options and reset page settings to your original defaults.

Remember to test print
your project on plain paper before printing on the more expensive
precut card stock or magnetic sheets.
Below is an example of
several NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® recipes in a 3 x
5 inch recipe card format. The page layout is formatted for Avery 5388
index cards and the recipes can be printed directly on the index cards.
To Print

- Place the desired print material in the
printer (magnetic sheet, Avery
5388 index cards or paper/card stock). For proper alignment on Avery
5388 index cards paper margins should be set at Internet Explorer
browser defaults - top .68”, left .25“.

Right click on the
image to be printed. You must do this for each side of the recipe card.

Select Print
Picture.

To print reverse
side; Reinsert paper and repeat steps 2 & 3.
